This year’s NordTrib conference, held at the Technical University of Denmark (DTU) in Copenhagen, was a significant event in the field of tribology. It gathered researchers, industry professionals, and academics from around the world to share the latest advancements and research in tribology. NordTrib 2024 provided numerous opportunities for networking and collaboration through organized social events, roundtable discussions, and informal gatherings. These interactions were instrumental in forging new partnerships and collaborative research initiatives.
The new platform Tribology Universe was presented showing the first database dedicated to storing tribological datasets togheter with the new online tribology applications aviaible at www.i-tribomat.eu.
An interesting panel dicussions was held on Friday on Future perspectives in tribology research: Simulation, experiment and application. Helena Ronkainen (VTT), Javad Hazrati (UTwente), and Xavier Borras (ETC) had the chance to debate on the direction and future challenges of the tirbology field.
A fantastic gala dinner and a canal boat tour were arranged by the organizers, exhibiting the highlights of the city, the food, and the local wines. The next Nordtrib edition will be held at the Tampere Wear Centre in Finland on 2026.
